IMPORTANCE OF PRE-APPROVAL

Your credit union should be your first stop when considering the purchase of a new car. You can specify a loan amount for a new vehicle, including tax and license. DCFCU will approve your loan in a few minutes if you are a member with a current loan application on file. Or, members can download a Loan Application and submit it by Fax to (760) 326-5671, with loan approval the same day.

Once approved, you can shop with confidence that your credit union is standing by to provide the financing you need. You’ll be free to negotiate with your dealer to get the best price without regard to financing.

When you buy a car you should know what your rights are. You have the right to know exactly how much the vehicle will cost including interest in the total cost, trade-in value, taxes, and fees. This should be given in writing. Don’t let your attention be diverted from higher costs by pointing you to a monthly payment you are comfortable with. Our Member Services Representatives are available to assist you with the valuation of a new car and our Loan Officer can approve your loan in minutes if you have a current application in file. INTEREST RATES

Interest rates are based on your credit worthiness and whether you will be financing 100% or 90% of your purchase. Interest rates range from 8.9% to 12.9% for 100% financing, and 6.9% to 10.9% for 90% financing with a maximum term of 72 months.. The rate will be determined at the time the loan is approved and locked in for a period of 30 days while you shop for your vehicle.

HOME OWNERS PLEASE READ

You may want to consider an Auto Equity loan. Interest rates are the same, but in many cases the interest may be tax deductible, although you should consult your tax advisor regarding your specific situation.
